Drama is a creative outlet young adults and teenagers moving into adult hood. We have created a syllabus that is exciting and meaning full. It is creative and imaginative, designed to use poetry, story-telling, acting, mime and improvisation to develop confidence and skills in all forms of communication. All of these skills are a pre-requisite for public speaking. For a specific public speaking skills course please click on this link.

In the drama class, we create a free space for children to express themselves. They can perform without worrying if their performance is good or bad, or right or wrong. This creative freedom results in spontaneous, joyful expression. They become less self-conscious and more trusting of their ability to perform in front of an audience.

Our syllabus focuses on specific skills such as:

  • Poetry speaking
  • Prepared and unprepared reading.
  • Prepared and improvised Story Telling
  • Character acting
  • Improvised acting
  • Acting for film and Television
  • Preparation for auditions
  • Expressive movement
  • Prepared and improvised Mime
  • Prepared and Improvised Public speaking
Our High school children are encouraged to do exam and competition work as individuals or in groups to help hone their skills please view the exam and competition page for more detail.
